Bridges for missing teeth

What is a bridge and why do I need it?

A dental bridge spans a space where one or more teeth have been lost in the dental arch. We replace the missing teeth with custom-designed replacement teeth, which are anchored by crowns to existing healthy tooth structure. We take a mould of your mouth and a dental technician makes the bridge so it matches the colour of your natural teeth. Bridges are important not only for improved cosmetic appearance but to keep existing teeth in position and prevent gum disease and tooth decay

Types of Bridges:

  • Fixed Bridge: the crowns holding the bridge in place are attached to your teeth on either side of the false tooth/teeth. They cannot be removed from your mouth.

  • Cantilever Bridge: can be used when teeth are on only one side of the open space.

Depending on the structure of your teeth, we may recommend a combination of a fixed and cantilever bridge.
