Crowns to protect or improve the look of teeth

A full crown is usually indicated when a tooth has had a root canal treatment, when a substantial amount of tooth structure has been lost, or when a tooth is cracked or broken.  Crowns cover the entire surface of your tooth. They are used to protect existing teeth and/or improve their appearance. They are usually made of porcelain and may have a gold core. To fit the crown we reduce the size of your existing tooth to make enough space for the crown and then make a mould for the dental technician. We then fit you with a temporary crown until the dental technician has made yours. Once ready, we cement the crown into place.

The One Visit Crown or what we like to call an OVC, is a clever new product that replaces traditional two-appointment crown procedures. It is a revolutionary new procedure that allows the Dentist to make a crown in a single visit at around half the cost.

A crown is required when a tooth is so damaged that more than just a filling is required. A crown entirely covers the broken tooth, at the same time restoring function and appearance.

One visit is all it takes to complete an OVC procedure. Multiple appointments, temporary crowns and laboratory technicians are no longer required. Dr Bell can do it all at your chairside, saving you time and money.

The OVC conserves, preserves and reinforces the remaining sound tooth structure.
